Young Driver Assessment

The Young Driver Assessment is purely a review of your driving to ensure that you have developed your skills beyond the point of passing the practical driving test. It is the perfect opportunity to discuss any aspects of driving that you are unsure of. To find out more click here

RoSPA’s Young Drivers Campaign

Improving the safety of young drivers is a key campaign issue for RoSPA.

Young and novice drivers are more likely to be involved in road accidents than more experienced drivers. They are more likely to be involved in accidents at high-speed, in the dark, when overtaking and when negotiating bends. They are also more likely than experienced drivers to be at fault for collisions. For more info click here

RoSPA’s road safety department has also been involved in two collaborations with Changemakers, a national charity which supports organisations looking to enhance their engagement with young people.

RoSPA’s first “young advocate” from Changemakers investigated why young people expressed little interest in advanced driving and how this might be improved. Her project included establishing a Facebook group to promote discussion. The second young advocate to work within the department researched the experiences of young male drivers in seeking reasonably-priced insurance deals.
